Method

  1. Peel, core and slice 6 apples, then put the slices in a saucepan along with 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 3 tablespoons caster sugar. Place over a medium–low heat, cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and set aside. Put 150 g softened diced butter in a bowl with 155 g soft brown sugar and 200 g plain flour and rub together until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir through 50 g rolled oats. Put the stewed apple in a baking dish, top with the crumble mixture and bake in a preheated 180°C oven for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
