My dad habitually heats his Krupnik in the microwave, but I once managed to convince him to do it on the stove. The vodka somehow caught on fire in the pan and when my father attempted to blow the fire out, it instead blew into his face and enveloped his whole head. He singed his eyebrows and his face was very red, but luckily no permanent damage was done. Lesson learnt, if you would like to heat Krupnik please use a microwave – about 20 seconds should suffice. Otherwise, just make this cocktail, which is a far less hazardous way of drinking this old-fashioned vodka.
