I live in the centre of Copenhagen in a neighbourhood that in many ways feels like living in a small village in the heart of a big town. It consists of very narrow rows of small townhouses, and in the middle of each is an area with no cars, just a communal space with trees and tables for the residents. The children can play, neighbours can eat and hang out or have parties: it’s a very cherished space. In front of each house we each have a small garden where life is lived, if weather permits, and it is here that I love to entertain. One of my favourite events is to eat langoustine, when in season, all evening. Friends and neighbours come over, we barbecue (grill) the langoustine, drink champagne, and eat it with bread and dips – very simple and so delicious.
