This versatile grain can be transformed into a pilaf or serve it simply with some greens or a bean dish.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup quinoa, rinsed in a fine sieve
sea salt

Method

  1. Bring the quinoa, 1 1/2 cups water and a pinch of sea salt to the boil in a heavy-based saucepan over high heat. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, or until all the water has been absorbed. Leave to rest, covered, for 5 minutes before spooning out.
