Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
500g lean steak, cut into thin slices 3 x 4 cm, (e.g. rump, topside or skirt)
2 tablespoons fish sauce
2 teaspoons sugar
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
3 small brown onions
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 garlic cloves, smashed and chopped
50g roasted peanuts, roughly crushed

Method

  1. Marinate the beef in fish sauce, sugar, salt and pepper. Cut the onions into quarters lengthwise and separate the pieces out into single petals. Heat the oil and fry the garlic and the onion petals until they are part-cooked, then add the beef and stir-fry everything until done. Sprinkle with crushed peanuts and serve.
