Sweet and crunchy.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
110g sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
250-375ml cider vinegar
2 bunches celery, chopped
6 large tomatoes, chopped
1 red pepper, cored, seeded and chopped

Method

  1. Mix all ingredients well in a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour or until thick.
  2. Spoon vegetables into hot, sterilised jars. Fill to overflowing with cooking liquid, and seal.
