Apple slices in brandy and cream

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
6 cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
60g unsalted butter
3 tablespoons brandy
3 tablespoons water
165g brown sugar
1 teaspoon nutmeg
150g currants or dried, mixed fruit
250ml cream

Method

  1. Place apples in a buttered shallow baking dish and dot with remaining butter. Stir rest of ingredients together and spoon over apples. Bake in a preheated moderate oven for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm with crisp biscuits or plain cake.
