Some mornings we have bircher muesli with yoghurt. According to Grandma, we first need to soak it. When it’s ready to eat, we add strawberries and pear. And give Teddy two servings … he’s one hungry bear!

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup apple juice
1 apple, grated
1/3 cup natural or fruit yoghurt
6 strawberries, hulled and quartered
1 pear, cored and sliced
honey, to serve (optional)

Method

  1. Combine the oats and apple juice in a large bowl, cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 1 hour (or even overnight), until the juice has mostly soaked in.
  2. Stir the apple and yoghurt through the oats. Divide between 3 bowls and top with the strawberries, pear and, if you like, a drizzle of honey.
