Wilted day lilies with mustard greens

Day lilies are incredibly sweet, like honey. Pick unsprayed ones once they have opened for those brief few hours. Remove the stamens and make sure there are no insects.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
1kg mustard greens or other dark greens, washed, stems cut out if they are thick
2 garlic cloves, very finely chopped
1 red chilli, deseeded and finely sliced
8-10 day lilies, stamens removed
sea salt
rice, steamed, to serve
or tapioca, boiled, to serve

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat. Add the mustard or other greens, garlic and chilli, with sea salt to taste. After 5 or so minutes when the greens are wilted, add the day lilies on top and let them wilt also.
  2. Serve the lilies hot with steamed rice or boiled tapioca.
