This is one of the best things to come out of my kitchen. I am obsessed with this sweet spread. Since discovering this divine and intense caramel I have wanted to use it in everything! Like all great caramels, it’s wonderful in so many desserts. Give it a go and begin your addiction to dulce de leche, the healthy version!

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
400ml tinned coconut cream
100g coconut sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Pour the coconut cream into a small saucepan with the sugar and salt. Simmer over low heat, string occasionally, for 30–40 minutes until thickened and a caramel colour.
  2. Place in a sterilised jar and keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
