I’ve been told before that ‘supper’ actually means ‘supplemental’… i.e. we are not supposed to eat huge meals before bed, just a small, supplemental amount. That way, our bodies can rest and digest something manageable while we’re sleeping and when we wake, we are recharged and ready to nourish our bodies with a healthy and hearty breakfast. When we eat something heavy in the evenings, it affects our sleep and we wake up feeling lethargic. The main dishes that I’ve created are light but filling, so you don’t go to bed feeling hungry, and you wake up in the morning feeling great.
