Sourdough toast topped with hatcho miso, avocado + tomato

This recipe was very popular on the café menu. As it is such a simple dish, it is crucial that you use good, fresh tomatoes. For this reason we only served it during the warmer months – tomato season.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 slices sourdough toast
1/2 tablespoon hatcho miso paste
1/2 avocado, sliced
1 small tomato, sliced
olive oil, to drizzle, (optional)

Method

  1. Thinly spread your toast with the miso. It has a strong flavour, so stick to the listed amount.
  2. Top with the avocado and tomato slices.
  3. Season lightly with salt and pepper. If you like, drizzle on a little olive oil.
  4. Serve immediately.
