Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
4 cups water
4 cups kiddush wine
90g sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
6 firm brown pears, peeled

Method

  1. In a saucepan combine the water, wine, sugar and cinnamon. Place the pears in the pan and boil, covered, until the liquid thickens, about 15 minutes. Uncover and boil for a further 15 minutes. Pears should be soft without losing their shape. Serve at room temperature.
