Even though smoothies are often served in glasses, bottles or jars, they can also be presented in bowls and eaten with spoons. In fact, this makes them feel like proper meals and provides a larger surface area for toppings, which is always a bonus. This creation is slightly thicker than a normal smoothie and contains protein powder to make it a complete breakfast, and such a pretty one at that.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
250ml oat milk
1 frozen banana
120g frozen raspberries
60g frozen or fresh redcurrants
2 tablespoons protein powder
1 tablespoon Nut butter
1 tablespoon maca powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the topping

Quantity Ingredient
hemp seeds or bee pollen
linseeds
toasted coconut chips
fresh blackberries
redcurrants and blackcurrants
edible pansies

Method

  1. Add half of the milk to a blender along with the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Blend on a high speed until completely smooth, adding more milk if needed.
  3. Pour into two small bowls or a medium-sized one (as featured in the photo). Finish with a sprinkling of seeds and coconut chips, as well as a few berries and pansies, and serve.
