We have written a whole book about smoothies, so we didn’t want to include too many here (even if smoothies are one of our favourite breakfasts). Weirdly enough, this green smoothie didn’t make it into the smoothie book even though it is always on repeat in our home. To be honest, David and the kids usually prefer pink, blue or purple berry smoothies in the morning, so I often get to have this one for myself.
It is packed with green vegetables but doesn’t taste like grass at all. The lime and ginger make it fresh and the nut butter adds depth. When David does drink this, he usually throws a soft date in the blender as well, for extra sweetness. It is also great after a workout with the addition of a scoop of high-quality plant-based protein powder. Luise
