The Elton John classic, ‘Benny and the Jets’, is a great song but I still vaguely resent it when drunk people sing it to me after they have reached a stage where they have trouble recognising their own reflections in a mirror. Likewise, the number of times I have been asked to ‘find’ one of these drinks for a lady at the bar is astounding. Thankfully, it’s so delicious that it is its own reward.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
20ml see method for ingredients, frozen
130ml dry sparkling white wine
1 maraschino cherry, to serve

Method

  1. Put the frozen vodka into a Champagne flute and top it with the sparkling wine. At Borsch, Vodka and Tears, we serve it with a maraschino cherry dropped suggestively into the glass, but I think it tastes better without the garnish.
