These hot chocolate spoons make a cosy gift for hot chocolate fans. To serve, place the spoon in a cup, pour over 120 ml of steaming hot milk, and stir. The marshmallows melt into the drink and bring just enough sweetness to the cinnamon-spiced dark chocolate.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
200g dark chocolate, finely chopped
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, plus extra for sprinkling
36 mini marshmallows
12 wooden teaspoons

Method

  1. Heat the chocolate in a glass bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, ensuring that the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl. Stir until the chocolate is almost melted, then remove the pan from the heat. Remove the glass bowl from the saucepan to ensure that the chocolate doesn’t become overheated, and continue to stir the chocolate until it is completely melted.
  2. Allow the chocolate to cool slightly before stirring in the cinnamon.
  3. Then, pour the chocolate mixture into a 12-hole silicone ice-cube tray, filling each hole three-quarters full. Leave the chocolate to set for 5 minutes, then carefully press 3 mini marshmallows and a wooden spoon into each cube.
  4. Dust with the remaining cinnamon and chill in the fridge for 2 hours, or until completely firm.
  5. Turn the chocolate out of the ice-cube tray, and wrap in cellophane bags, or store in a tin or an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
