These little jars of flavoured flaky sea salt are really simple to make. Try sprinkling the flavoured salt onto poached eggs, toss it into popcorn or serve it with homemade potato wedges.

Spicy, smoked paprika salt

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
60g sea salt
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder

Garlic salt

Quantity Ingredient
60g sea salt
4 teaspoons garlic powder

Rosemary salk

Quantity Ingredient
60g sea salt
2 sprigs rosemary

Method

  1. To make the spicy, smoked-paprika salt and the garlic salt, combine all the ingredients of each recipe into a bowl, then place in a clean, sterilised jar and seal. These flavoured salts will keep at room temperature for several weeks.
  2. To make the rosemary salt, preheat the oven to 200°C. Place one of the rosemary sprigs in a ramekin or small, ovenproof dish and cover with the salt. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  3. Allow the salt to fully cool, then cover and leave to rest at room temperature overnight.
  4. The next morning, remove the baked rosemary and transfer the salt to a clean, sterilised jar. Add the fresh sprig of rosemary and seal. This flavoured salt should be kept in the fridge and will keep for a week.
