Rye + oat porridge with kiwi + banana chips

I like to use a variety of different grains in my porridge for a slightly different texture. Rye is a robust grain, giving more of a bite to your bowl. A little extra cooking time is required to achieve a smooth consistency.

Porridge

60g rye flakes
60g jumbo oats
250ml coconut milk
250ml water

Toppings

Quantity Ingredient
slices kiwi fruit
dried banana chips

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients for the porridge in a saucepan and cook over a medium heat for 5–10 minutes.
  2. Spoon the mixture into bowls and serve topped with sliced kiwi fruit and banana chips. Fresh banana will also work nicely.
