Yoghurt with honey and nuts

We always relish this simple Greek dessert with toasted nuts and honey.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
100-150g assorted nuts such as walnuts, blanched almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts
100ml honey, (thyme or orange blossom honey, if available)
500g thick greek yoghurt
a touch ground cinnamon, (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Toast the nuts on a baking tray for 6-8 minutes. Cool on a plate. Roughly chop the nuts and stir in the honey.
  2. Spoon the yoghurt into small glasses or bowls, and top with the honey nuts. Or even simpler: top the yoghurt with natural nuts and just trickle the honey on top. You may even wish to dust with cinnamon.
