This is a striking and fairly effortless dessert with exotic flavours. You can find halva in Middle Eastern or Greek speciality food stores.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Use a knife to peel a few sweet oranges, removing all traces of bitter white pith, and then slice and arrange them on a platter. Place pomegranate seeds (all the bitter white membrane removed) in a small bowl, combine with just a hint of orange-blossom water, a dusting of cinnamon and a little sugar or honey, to taste. Sprinkle the pomegranate seeds over the oranges, and add some roughly chopped unsalted pistachios as well. Then finish by scattering with small cubes of halva.
