Drink throughout the day.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 litre water
3/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
2 slices fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
3 cloves
1 cinnamon shard

Method

  1. Boil all the ingredients together for 5–7 minutes and leave to seep for another 5 minutes. Strain the spices and pour into a teapot or thermos. (Also great steeped in a little water and mixed with pomegranate juice or apple juice.)

Pitta

  • Pitta should omit the peppercorns and reduce the amount of cloves and ginger. Add a sprig of fresh mint.
