Spicy cheese and yoghurt dip

I tasted this spicy dip, along with fried eggs with garlicky sucuk sausages and kaymak with honeycomb, at a typical Turkish breakfast joint in a side street off Taksim Square. It was a great way to start a day in Istanbul.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
150g feta, crumbled
200g thick yoghurt
3-4 tablespoons fresh dill fronds, finely chopped
1 small red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
sea salt
freshly ground black pepper

To serve

Quantity Ingredient
drizzle extra virgin olive oil
grilled flatbread

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl. Season generously with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper and mix well. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Serve with a drizzle of olive oil and grilled flatbread.
