This dish takes the Australian pub staple of steak with pepper sauce and gives it a bit of a shake-up.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1kg beef rib eye or preferred cut of beef
sea salt
2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
Black pepper sauce

Method

  1. Remove the meat from the refrigerator 1 hour before you intend to cook it. Season the beef with plenty of salt.
  2. Preheat a barbecue or chargrill pan until hot. Brush the meat with the grapeseed oil and place it on the hot grill. Cook to your preferred degree of doneness.
  3. When the beef is cooked, remove it from the heat and set it aside in a warm place, loosely tented with foil, and allow it to rest for 15 minutes.
  4. Just before carving your meat, reheat the black pepper sauce in a small saucepan and serve it with the meat.
