Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
25ml light rum
25ml golden rum
25ml jamaican rum
generous squeeze lime juice
2 dashes passionfruit juice
2 dashes pineapple juice
sugar syrup, to taste
20ml overproof rum

Method

  1. Pour the first three rums into a shaker and add the lime juice. Add two dashes of the fruit juices and one dash of sugar syrup (to taste). Shake vigorously and strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Float the overproof rum on top.

  • When Holly Golightly was intent on leaving a party ‘very drunk indeed’, then the Zombie cocktails she was knocking back were sure to do the trick. Astonishingly designed as a hangover cure by restaurateur Donn Beach in 1934, with its four shots of rum this recipe would surely have had the opposite effect.
