Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
50ml gin
25ml cherry brandy
25ml lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1 teaspoon grenadine
soda water
maraschino cherry, to garnish

Method

  1. Shake the gin, cherry brandy, lemon juice and grenadine vigorously with ice. Strain in a tumbler over ice and top up with soda water. Add a maraschino cherry to garnish.

Long Bar, Raffles Hotel - Singapore

  • Set in the white stucco splendour of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, the Long Bar is the home of the Singapore Sling. Invented by Ngiam Tong Boon in 1910, the Raffles version of this cocktail is still considered to be the best and has been enjoyed by the likes of Rudyard Kipling, Noël Coward, Joseph Conrad and Charlie Chaplin.
